Site History. House Architecture: Alexander Jackson Davis, from 1838. Associated Name: Helen Gould (Mrs. Finley J.) Shephard was the daughter of railroad magnate Jay Gould (1836-1892) who acquired the property in 1880. Today: National Trust for Historic Presevation house with restored gardens on 67 acres.
On slide (handwritten): "S" and "Shepard" [sic].
