On a print of this image, Frances Benjamin Johnston wrote: Detroit, 1917. In this year she photographed both the Truman Handy Newberry and John Stoughton Newberry, Jr., gardens in Grosse Pointe Farms. This slide is possibly of a corner in one of those gardens.
On slide: Blue star sticker. Also, white square with thin red line through the middle.
