Site History. House Architecture: Chateau built for Nicolas Fouquet by Louis le Vau, from 1656. Landscape: André Le Nôtre, 1653-1654, Élie Lainé, 19th century and Achille Duchêne, 1911-1923. Other: Edme Sommier owned the house in 1925. Today: Chateau and gardens open to the public.
