They discuss their childhood memories of Southwest Georgia, and how they came to meet and marry. The remainder of the interview focuses on their involvement in the Civil Rights Movement, the harassment they faced from white supremacists, and their role in registering black voters. She also worked as a beautician. Lucius Holloway, Sr., was a civil rights activist in Terrell County, Georgia, Vice President of the local National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the plaintiff in a voter registration court case, Holloway v. Wise. He later became County Commissioner of Terrell County. The Civil Rights History Project is a joint project of the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of African American History and Culture to collect video and audio recordings of personal histories and testimonials of individuals who participated in the Civil Rights movement.
