Ethnographical Maps of Central & South Eastern Europe and Western Asia is Number 0 in a series of studies produced by the section, most of which were published after the conclusion of the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. The book contains a collection of five foldout ethnographical maps. The maps are comprised of an "Ethnographical Map of Central and South Eastern Europe" in four sheets--Germany, Poland, Northern Italy, and Southeast Europe (Balkan Peninsula)--and a separate "Ethnographical Map of Eastern Turkey in Asia, Syria and Western Persia." On each of these maps, color codes are used to indicate the regions inhabited by people of the different nationalities and ethnic groups. The book also contains a four-page explanatory note about the map of the Balkans. As indicated in the note, the ethnic character of the various Balkan peoples and their distribution is discussed in Numbers 15-22 and Number 46 of the peace handbook series." World Digital Library.
