The museum is a collection of such autos, most hand-assembled, in this original showroom and adjacent buildings designed by architect Alvin M. Strauss in Art Deco style and were built in 1930. Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg-brand automobiles are among those featured. The "Duesenbird" hood ornament on the foreground auto, designed by Gordon Buehrig, was an additional cost feature but one which has become synonymous with the Duesenberg automobile.
