Cartoon shows Uncle Sam, bent under an enormous burden labeled "U.S. Cost, U.S. Expenses." President Coolidge standing on a ladder and saying "Lots more can come off yet," removes bundles labeled "Unnecessary Expenses," "Needless Cost," "Superfluous Cost," and "Useless Expenditures." The cartoonist's signature small bear watches from the side. In 1926, Coolidge strongly supported a Revenue Act that drastically reduced taxes for upper income citizens. It was estimated that it reduced taxes by $350 million each year. Coolidge strongly believed that the least government was the best government.
