Cartoon shows the legs of Arkansas governor Orval Eugene Faubus visible underneath the bell which has fallen on his head. The bell, similar in shape to the Liberty Bell, is labeled "Little Rock School Board Election." On May 25, Pulaski County voters ousted many segregationists, with whom Faubus sided, from the school board and elected moderates.
