- New York Solon charges Hopkins with pump-priming "propoganda." Washington, D.C., April 26. Displaying a batch of letters received in the first mail today, Rep. John Taber, Republican of New York, accused WPA Administrator Harry L. Hopkins of inspiring "chain letter propoganda" in favor of President Roosevelt's pump-priming program. "On the bottoms of some of the letters" Rep. Taber said, "was a line stating: make one copy for your congressman and send this to four other persons," 4/26/38 [graphic].
