Civil Wars; wounded in Civil war; many years in congress; Presidential elector on the Polk and Dallas ticket in 1844; Private in Seminole War; Col of State Militia; Maj. 14th U.S. Infantry in Mexican War, also Lt. Col; Col. of 16th Tenn. Infantry in Civil War, wounded at Perryville and Murfreesboro; died 1904 in Tenn.
