Made in the 1940s and 1950s, they were originally intended to encourage black Americans to participate in, and support the war effort, and to reflect an African-American perspective on world and national events. Highlights of this issue include a segment about Joseph Craigen, a judge in Michigan, the Karamu House in Cleveland, and a Memorial Day parade. G.I.'s have own station, broadcast programs on the Burma road (1 min., 27 sec.) -- Judge in labor field, atty. Craigen renders Michigan decisions (37 sec.) -- "Will to do" at Karamu, Cleveland settlement now $500,000 project (1 min., 5 sec.) -- Hero dead remembered, impressive parade marks Memorial Day (37 sec.) -- Troops return from Europe, first group lands at port of New York (1 min., 6 sec.).
