The former convent of Belen in Old Havana. Construction of the convent began in 1712, and the building underwent many different uses and modifications through the centuries. Currently it is a meeting place and social assistance center for the elderly for various recreation and workshop activities. In addition there are activities for small children who are cared for and treated with educational and recreational activities.
Note in Spanish: El antiguo convento de Belen en la Habana Vieja se comenzó a levantar en 1712 habiendo tenido muy diversos usos y modificaciones a través de los siglos. Actualmente es un centro de reunión y asistencia social para ancianos a los que realizan trabajos de recreación y talleres diversos. Ademas hay actividades destinadas a pequeños niños que son cuidados y atendidos con actividades educativas y recreativas.
