<note>"Mother dear." Appears to be a song whose lyrics were quickly augmented to reflect a tragic event. "Oh, the sorrows of mothers who struggle, and the anguish of orphans left alone. Woe for those victims who perished, and for their families desolated in grief." The Triangle Shirtwaist Company fire occurred at Washington Place and Greene Street in New York City on March 25, 1911; 146 garment workers, mostly young women, lost their lives.
