Journalist, author and professor Wesley Pippert recalls highlights of his 27-plus years as a frontline reporter for United Press International (UPI), covering Senator George McGovern's presidential bid, the Carter White House, Watergate, Capitol Hill, and his experiences overseas as UPI Bureau Chief in Jerusalem. Later, as a professor at the University of Missouri (1989-2012), he witnessed radical change in news gathering during the digital age. Despite changes, Pippert feels the core value of journalism will remain constant: a "diligent search for truth."
