Reply to a series of articles by G.C.H. Hasskarl called What of the Negro race?
Bolding was pastor of A.M.E. Zion Church, Chambersburg, Pa. This is a reply to G.C.H. Hasskarl, a Lutheran minister, who disparaged African Americans in a series of newspaper articles. Bolding gives a broad defense of the Black race, its humanity, and its achievements, all denied by Hasskarl. Arguments about African American racial and intellectual inferiority figure quite strongly in Bolding's reply, with much appeal to Scripture.
