For the most part prints have not been matched to corresponding negatives and transparencies.  The collection also includes Cook's lantern slide viewer.  This is filed in P&amp;P's supplementary archives under the call number LOT 13300-C. Some of Cook's handwritten notes and inventories are filed in the Prints &amp; Photographs Division's Supplementary Reference Files under the call number LOT 13300-A and LOT 13300-B.</description>

Most photographic prints documenting expeditions do not bear a photographer name; these may have been taken by Cook or by others accompanying him.
