Handwritten account of the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945, by a Japanese survivor, Haruo Shimizu. Shimizu provides a detailed description of the residents and surroundings. Inscribed in 1946 by Shimizu to Willard C. Floyd, an American soldier serving with U.S. occupation forces in Otaru, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. Includes Floyd's draft card (1944 December 28), photographs (circa 1946) of Floyd, and his 1985 obituary.
