Names on the face of Montana, c1971 (Emigrant (then in Gallatin County) had a post office from 1872 to 1876; postal records show the establishment of a post office in 1885 called Fridley after the first postmaster; it was discontinued in 1911 with orders to send mail to Emigrant; another entry shows Emigrant reestablished in Jan. 1911 and notes it was "lately called Fridley")
