Wikipedia (Spanish), 27 March 2023 (Mateo Pumacahua; Mateo García Pumacahua Chihuantito; born 21 September 1740 in Chinchero, Cuzco; died 17 March 1815 in Sicuani, Cuzco; was a soldier and indigenous official of the Viceroyalty of Peru whose participation against the rebellion of Túpac Amaru II was decisive for the defeat of this; years later, he joined the liberation cause of the Angulo brothers, being the most prominent leader of the Cuzco Rebellion of 1814, which is why he is considered a hero of the independence of Peru).
