Dictionary of African Biography, accessed May 02, 2015, via Oxford African American Studies Center database: (Kolélas, Bernard; political figure; born in 1933 in Moloki, Republic of the Congo; gravitated to the Union Démocratique pour la Défense des Interêts Africains (UDDIA) party of former priest Fulbert Youlou (1950's); was secretary-general of the ministry of foreign affairs with the UDDIA government after independence and minister of foreign affairs under the new regime of Alphonse Massamba-Débat (1963); turned from peaceful protest to military action in organizing a failed effort to take power (1965); formed the Mouvement Congolais pour la Démocratie et le Développement Integral (MCDDI) party (1989); ran as an MCDDI candidate and won a seat in the Congolese parliament, representing the Goma Tsé-Tsé district in the Malebo Pool region (1992); created a private Ninja militia with support from lari men; published the novel Le Déchirement (2008); died 13 November 2009 in Paris, France)
