Special noteThis work consisting of 60 songs numbered 1-60 was issued chronologically (1932-1973) by the composer under the imprint Édition orientale de musique and later under his own name in 10 "serie" numbered 1-10, each serie also bearing a chronological but mostly non-consecutive opus no.; the series groupings or sets of six songs each reflect the areas in Greece, Turkey and the Middle East where the composer gathered his Sephardic source material. Treat as one work, not ten works, using the serie numbering as part numbering with references from the corresponding opus numbers.
