Biography/History noteStephanie St. Clair was born on Guadeloupe on Dec. 24, 1897. She arrived in New York on the S.S. Guiana on July 30, 1911. As she was only 13, the crew of the S.S. Guiana estimated her birth to be around 1887, which would give them deniability concerning her true age. She died in 1969, just prior to her 73rd birthday--Taken from "The world of Stephanie St. Clair," c2014.
