Wikipedia, Oct. 2, 2014: (Deux-Nèthes (English: Two Netes; Dutch: Twee Nethen) is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present Belgium and the Netherlands. It is named after two branches of the river Nete. It was formed in 1795, when the Southern Netherlands were annexed by France. In 1810, the département was expanded with the western half of the present Dutch province North Brabant. After Napoleon was defeated in 1814, the département became part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands as the province of Antwerp. The southern part of its territory corresponds more or less with the present Belgian province Antwerp)
