First named the Herminia-Theater after Oswald's wife, it opened in May 1872. In 1879, the theater was renamed the Residenztheater when Englebrecht Karl became the director. it closed in 1934 and used as a storehouse. It was destroyed in the 1945 bombing of Dresden)
