Attended Johns Hopkins until 1890 when he graduated with a PhD, then taught at Bryn Mawr 1891-1904 and at Columbia University 1904-1928. Became director of Kerckhoff Laboratories of Biological Sciences at California Institutte of Technology from 1928 until his death in 1945 in Pasadena, California. |
