Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: pages 651-652 (Thomas Hunt Morgan, born in Lexington, Ky. Attended State College (now University of Kentucky) as a preparatory school, then in 1882 in its college. Graduating in 1886 with his BS and in 1888 with his MS. Attended Johns Hopkins until 1890 when he graduated with a PhD, then taught at Bryn Mawr 1891-1904 and at Columbia University 1904-1928. Became director of Kerckhoff Laboratories of Biological Sciences at California Institutte of Technology from 1928 until his death in 1945 in Pasadena, California.
