Studied at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. Most famous for his paintings “Daniel Boone Coming through the Cumberland Gap”, “Verdict of the People” and “Washington Crossing the Delaware.” Died in Kansas City, Missouri on July 7, 1879.)
