Syrett, executive editor of the papers of Alexander Hamilton and a former president of Brooklyn College, died of hepatitis yesterday at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y. He was 70 years old and lived in Craryville, N.Y. [Copake]. Professor in Columbia's history department from 1941 to 1961. From 1969 until his retirement in 1979, Dr. Syrett taught history at the City University of New York. Born in Brooklyn.)
