Wikipedia, May 27, 2022: (Lotte H. Eisner (5 March 1896, Berlin-25 November 1983, Paris) was a German-French writer, film critic, archivist and curator. Eisner worked initially as a film critic in Berlin, then in Paris where in 1936 she met Henri Langlois with whom she founded the Cinémathèque Franc̜aise. Born Lotte Henriette Eisner, obtained a Ph.D. in 1924 at the University of Rostock. Worked as a freelance theatre critic from 1924 to 1927, when she joined the Film Kurier as a staff journalist. Fled to Paris in 1933, was interned at the Gurs concentration camp in 1940. She escaped and obtained false papers under the name Louise Escoffier. After the liberation of Paris she spent the next forty years as the Chief Curator at the Cinémathèque Franc̜aise)
