Santa Fe New Mexican, via WWW, October 2, 2012 (Marshall Barron Clinard; born in Boston, MA on November 12, 1911, the son of Gladys Barron and Andrew Marshall Clinard; educated at Governor Dummer Academy, Stanford University (BA, 1932, MA , 1934), and the University of Chicago (Ph. D., 1941, Sociology); between 1941-1945 he worked as Chief Criminal Statistician for the US Census Bureau and in the enforcement department of the Office of Price Administration; he taught at the University of Iowa, Vanderbilt University, and for 34 years at the University of Wisconsin/Madison; in 1957, he published Sociology of Deviant Behavior, a major text book now in its 14th edition and still widely used; he wrote 11 books and over 40 articles; he was widely recognized for his work on corporate crime; his book Corporate Crime was republished in 2005; he was a member of the American Sociological Society and was the President of the Society of Social Problems; died in Santa Fe, NM on May 30, 2010)
