Biography/History note | Georgia O'Keeffe (November 15, 1887-March 6, 1986) was an American artist. She is best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. O'Keeffe met the photographer Alfred Stieglitz in 1917 and, after he divorced his first wife, married him in 1924. |
