Tooker; Edwin Wilson Tooker, age 89, died at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, California on February 26, 2013; Ed was born May 9, 1923 in Littleton, Massachusetts; he received a B.S. in 1947 from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine; he completed his M.S. at Lehigh in 1949 and his Ph. D. in Geology at the University of Illinois in 1952; Ed joined the U.S. Geological Survey in 1953 and spent the next 40 years researching and mapping the economic and precious metal (gold, silver, copper) deposits of the western U.S.; he retired as Scientist Emeritus in 1992 but continued to work on various publications)
