Sydney morning herald WWW site, Sept. 19, 2014 (Dr Antony Kidman 1938-2014; Tony Kidman; began life in Randwick; moved to the University of Hawaii to commence his PhD in biochemistry, with a molecular biology basis; in 1966, Kidman moved to Washington DC to the National Institute of Mental Health at St Elizabeth Psychiatric Hospital; in the early 1970s Kidman returned to Australia, accepting a senior lecturer position in the Department of Biochemistry at Monash University; in 1972 Kidman made the move to the University of Technology, Sydney, where he stayed for 43 years, the remainder of his working life; in the mid-1980s a number of forces precipitated a major change of direction; visited the US to train in cognitive behavioural therapy: Kidman had embarked on his new career as a clinical psychologist; in 1985, Kidman established the Health Psychology Unit at the University of Technology Sydney)
