Wikipedia (German), viewed Sept. 8, 2016 (Fritz Oskar Richard Martini (born September 5, 1909 in Magdeburg; died July 5, 1991 in Stuttgart) was a German philologist (Germanist and Anglist). Martini studied at the universities of Zurich, Graz, Heidelberg, Grenoble, and Berlin. Since 1943 he was professor of Aesthetics and Literature at the Technical University of Stuttgart. Martini was a member of the Presidium of the German Academy for Language and Literature.
