He played with his brother in the 1940s; recorded with Elko Records (1954); toured with Zydeco Ramblers and recorded with Chicago Chess records (1956) and with the Arhoolie label (1960s). Heorganized a new group, Red Hot Louisiana Band (1976); the band's album, I'm Here, won a Grammy Award (1983). He died 19 December 1987 in Lafayette, Louisiana, United States)
