Jewish Telegraph Agency website, May 30, 2018: article dated March 30, 1950 (NEW YORK (Mar. 29). Jacob Apenszlak, documents officer of the Israel Delegation to the United Nations and a former editor and author in Poland, died today of a heart attack at the Hotel Regent. He was 55. Before leaving Poland in 1939, Mr. Apenszlak was the chief editor of Nass Przeglad, leading daily Polish-Jewish newspaper in Warsaw. Coming to this country, he was associated with the American Federation of Polish Jews, the Institute for Jewish Affairs of the World Jewish Congress, the Jewish Agency for Palestine, and later the Israel Delegation. He was the author of a biography of Theodor Herzl, a novel, "Flight," published in Warsaw in 1934, and he compiled the Black Book of Polish Jewry, published in New York in 1943. In New York, he was the editor of a Polish Jewish bi-weekly, Nasza Trybuna (Our Tribune))
