German Wikipedia, viewed July 27, 2022 (Christian Francken ; born 1550 in Gardelegen, died 1611 in Rome ; professor at the Vienna Jesuit School ; lector at the University of Altdorf ; in 1584 he became rector of the school in Chmielnik ; moved to Transylvania, where he was accepted at the court of Johannes Gerendi in Neusatz (Hungarian: Aranyosgerend) ; in 1587 stayed in Prague ; in 1588 returned to Transylvania and stayed with the nobleman István Szakolyi in Kisvárda ; in 1590 became lector at the College of Transylvanian Unitarians in Cluj ; in his final years traveled to Italy, where he is said to have been arrested by the Inquisition and later converted back to Catholicism)
