Current reference sources consulted use the term "Westinghouse works", sometimes referring to the Westinghouse factories, and sometimes referring to the 1904 films made in and around the factories. Contemporary newpaper sources indicate that the term "works" was not a part of the name of any of the Westinghouse companies. It appears to have been a generic term sometimes used to describe the physical plants of individual Westinghouse factory complexes, including the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company.
