Found inKentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: pages 20-21 (Mary Anderson, a Shakesperean actress was born in Sacramento, Calif. on July 28, 1859. The next year the family moved to Louisville, Kentucky. She attended Ursuline Academy and Presentation Academy in Louisville. At sixteen she made her debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in Louisville. After national and international fame as an actress, she retired fourteen years later and moved to England, In June 1890 she married Antonio de Navarro and lived in Broadway, Worcestershire, England, where she died on May 20, 1940.)
