Journal sentinel, viewed Oct. 31, 2013 article dated Oct. 29, 2013 (Jazz accordionist and Milwaukee native Tommy Gumina has died. Born in Milwaukee in 1931, Gumina performed and recorded with Harry James, Buddy DeFranco (forming the Buddy DeFranco-Tommy Gumina Quarter), Joe Pass, Art Peppers and others. In 1961, he was named by Stan Kenton to the faculty of Kenton's jazz clinic at Michigan State University. In 1968, Gumina founded the Polytone Amplifier Company. He died Monday in Los Angeles.)
