Wikipedia, February 10, 2023: (Paul Cadmus (December 17, 1904-December 12, 1999) was an American artist known for his egg tempura paintings of gritty social interactions in urban settings and drawings of single nude males; his paintings combine elements of eroticism and social critique in a style often called magic realism; traveled in Europe from 1931 to 1933; was employed by the New Deal art programs painting murals in post offices; became a full member of the National Academy of Design in 1980; from 1937 to the early 1950s was part of a photographic collective called PaJaMa with Jared French and Margaret French)
