Rad. ent︠s︡ykl. istoriï Ukraïny, 1971: v. 3, p. 180 (Mostysʹka, a city and raion center of Mostysʹkyĭ raĭon in Lʹvivsʹka oblastʹ. It is first mentioned in historical sources of 1404 when the city was granted Magdeburg Law by Poland. Mostysʹka was liberated during the 1648-54 war by Cossack forces, but it was returned back to Poland by the terms of the 1667 Andrusiv Peace Treaty. In 1772, along with all of Galicia, the city was seized by Austria. After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918 Mostysʹka was again recaptured by Polish forces. When Western Ukraine was reunited with Soviet Ukraine in Sept. 1939, Mostysʹka became the raĭon center of the Drohobyt︠s︡ʹka oblastʹ. Since 1959 it has been part of the Lʹvivsʹka oblastʹ)
