Biography/History note | American Fork, Utah is a city in northern Utah County. First settled in 1850, it was incorporated by the territorial legislature as Lake City in 1853. The name was later changed to American Fork in 1860 to avoid confusion with Salt Lake City. During its early years it was also known as McArthursville, taken from settler Duncan McArthur (1796-1865). |
