Found inLandon, H.C.R. Mozart, The golden years 1781-1791, c1989, p. 12 (The famous 'Toy' symphony, formerly attributed to Haydn, is actually part of a delightful, larger work by Leopold, entitled 'Cassatio') p. 238 (The original Cassatio by Leopold Mozart, edited by the present writer (Robbins Landon), is published by Doblinger in Vienna)
PreĢvost, A. Tale of the bird [SR] p1982: label (Toy symphony in C major / Joseph Haydn)
New Grove, v. 8, p. 378 (Haydn, Joseph: Toy symphony, Kindersinfonie, Berchtolsgadener Sinfonie, Symphonie burlesque, C/G, various versions extant, sometimes without author's name, sometimes with names of M. Haydn, L. Mozart, or Angerer) v. 12, p. 678 (Mozart, Leopold: Cassatio, G major, arr. from anon. Berchtesgadener Musik)
Hoboken (H. II, Nr. 47; "Kinder" bzw. "Berchtolsgadener" Symphonie; for 2 violins, bass, and 7 Kinderinstrumente; movements: Allegro, Menuett, and Presto, all in C major)
Illing, R. Berchtolds garden musick, 1994: cover (Berchtolds Gaden Musick) facism. ff. t.p. (an early source of the "Toy symphony" with title Berchtolds-Gaden Musick and attribution to Edmund Angerer) p. 8 (casts doubt on the attribution to Leopold Mozart)
Grove music online, Apr. 27, 2007: entry for Angerer, Edmund (In 1996 he was identified as the composer of the famous Kindersinfonie ("Toy Symphony"), previously attributed variously to Joseph Haydn, Michael Haydn and Leopold Mozart.)
His Berchtoldsgaden Musick, 1997: subtitle (Kindersinfonie) score ( the movements, all in C major are: Allegro, Menuetto, and Presto (the same as J. Haydn's Divertimento H. II, 47)) Zur Edition, p. 9-17 (The attribution of the Kindersinfonie to Angerer is primarily based on a ms. in the Musikarchiv of Stift Stams, copied by Stefan Paluselli, attributing the Berchtolsgaden Musick (Kindersinfonie) to Edmundo Angerer. Paluselli and Angerer were colleague 18th century church musicians at Stift Stams and Stift Fiecht respectively, both functioning as choirmasters, music teachers, and composers. There was an obvious pedagogical motivation for creating a work like Berchtolsgaden Musick. Paluselli likely would have had first-hand knowledge concerning the true composer of this work, and no reason to record a false attribution. The autograph of Berchtoldsgaden Musik is lost, presumably destroyed along with other compositions by Angerer in a fire at Stift Fiecht.)
Keski-Pohjanmaan Kamariorkesteri. LeikkikaluSatakieli [SR] p2009: insert (Leikkikalusinfonia / Leopold Mozart)
