American Bloods, 2023: CIP galley (Thomas Blood was born at Sarney in County Meath, twenty miles north of Dublin, in 1618, the youngest grandson of a wealthy pirate; made a justice of the peace in 1640; by the early 1650s, he was firmly ensconced in the Parliamentary army as a lieutenant; after a failed attempt to take Dublin Castle in 1663, Blood went on the run; later tried to steal the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London; died August 24, 1680, and was buried in St. Margaret's Church in Westminster)
