He studied at Adams College, South Africa; earned a BA degree from Fort Hare University (1949); studied at King's College, London and at Inns of Court School of Law. He was awarded assistantship in Shona at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. He later became a barrister in Southern Rhodesia (1954); was member of United Federal Party; joined National Democratic Party (NDP) (1960), the Zimbabwe African Peoples' Union (ZAPU), the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) (1963). He was elected national chairman (1964) and was made director of external operations for ZANU, Lusaka (1966). He was assassinated, dying on the 18th of March 1975 in Zambia) |
