Tennessee blue book, 2017-2018: page 624 (Isham Green Harris, 1857-1862, Democrat; born near Tullahoma in 1818; studied law and, in 1847, was elected to the state Senate. After serving that term and two in the state House, he was elected governor in 1857, then reelected in 1859 and 1861. Under his administration, Tennessee seceded from the Union, the last state to do so. After the war, he fled to Mexico, then England, returning to serve in Congress in 1877 for twenty years; died in 1897)
