He was member of the Tejano fusion group Texas Tornados, with Augie Meyers, Doug Sahm and Freddy Fender. He has appeared in videos, films and his music has been featured in film soundtracks. The Hohner company collaborated with Jiménez to create the Flaco Jiménez Signature Series of accordions. His father was Santiago Jiménez, Sr. and his brother is Santiago Jiménez, Jr.)
