Special note | According to sources there are many versions of Olympia in existence: it was originally produced in four languages (German, English, French and Italian), and was later distributed in 16 languages. In addition, a "de-Nazified" version was released in the Federal Republic of Germany after World War II. It has been cut by censors and re-edited by Leni Riefenstahl herself, among others. According to C. Graham's Leni Riefenstahl and Olympia, "a complete Olympia may not be in existence". |
