He played the guitar as a Delta Blues musician in Drew, Mississippi and with Willie Brown and Charlie Patton. He recorded songs with Victor Records inMemphis (1928), and with the Paramount label in Wisconsin (1929). He also played at house parties and street corners in Jackson and Crystal Springs area, and was portrayed in the award-winning film: O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000). He died 01 November, 1956 in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, United States)
