Uddén emigrated with his parents in 1861 to Minnesota, U.S.A. He became a student at Augustana College in 1881 and was employed there as Oscar II Professor of Geology and Natural History from 1888 to 1911. In 1911 he was employed as a geologist at the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology and Technology and became Director in 1915. He performed a large number of field investigations, partly for US Geological Surveys, and on behalf of the states of Illinois, Iowa and Texas.) |
